What type of gains would a variator kit give?

    Hey all,
picking up a few parts for my Aerox 50. At the minute I'm not going to 70 it so I was just going to derestrict the exhaust rather then buy a new performance one. I was however going to buy a variator kit, something like the Polini one or Hebo.
Would I get any noticeable improvements from this as opposed to just a derestricted scoot? thanks

depending on which kit, the overange kits improve top end noticeably, a normal malossi/polini variator kit will improve acceleration and slightly improve top end.

usually the over range kits need a longer belt!!

And its a shame you dont want to go the 70cc route...because a 70 kit will give more power than a pipe and variator put together...And would probably be cheaper too ;)

iv got a polini speed control kit and it has made my ped rev shit loads at any speed and the revs just come out of nowhere BUT.....i have lost some speed top end compared to my standard variator. i recieved 3.6gram and 4.9gram rollers. i have the 3.6gram rollers in at the minute and bottom end its class :p but top end i have lost quite a bit of speed. my ped has always struggled with 3.5/3.6 gram rollers though and the best weight rollers i have found are 4.5gram so ive ordered some 4.2gram rollers for my polini variator kit. hopefully i wil get a good combination of bottom and top end speed. i wil let u know ;)

but......i would definitely recommend to buy the polini variator kit because my ped is fookin class for bombing around on and really flies to 55/60 odd there just arent ANY flatspots which is mint

    hope this helps!!!

What other mods do you have on your scoot apart from the polini speed kit? any rough speeds I can expect from a standard derestriction and a kit?

Yeah I do intend to increase the CC but I'm going to go through the winter first then do that next year. Actually wanting to keep myself slow this now (hence buying the scooter for when I'm not using my bike) the roads and weather up here are pretty rubbish in winter so keepin myself a bit safer.
