ive got a completely stock gilera runner the only thing ive got is a tecnigas next r exhaust i was wondering if anyone can suggest what roller weight i should be using as the ones in at the moment are stock because it went in for a service and they never asked me they just changed them and i was wondering if it does any damage removing the baffles from your exhaust
if you bought your tecnigas brand new it should come with the recomended rollers as standard, however if you wish to obtain the best performance out of your runner start with the heaviest rollers you have and work your way down e.g. my friend who owns a aerox 70 started with 9g, then 7g, 6g, 5.5g, 5g all the way until 3g (anything less is a bit light). he found the optimum roller weight for his sport setup was only 4g, but again this could change if he had a gear up kit, better exhaust etc. As for the rollers you have to play about a bit, and think what you prefer - better acceleration or top end As for the baffles in your exhaust three words - NO! NO! NO! If you take them out, you may have a very slight increase in power, however the baffles are designed and manufactured for a reason, mainly to muffle the fuckin awful sound of a 50cc engine makes, trust me I tested it out on my mates ped 3 days ago - when you take the baffles out, the noise the ped will make is not much quieter than an engine without an exhaust - its horrific Especially if you live in a large community with lots of residents - they will get pissed off very quickly if you take the baffles out and decide to come home late at night like me hope this helps mate
haha yerr its alot louder now (i took them out) but im a 2 stroke nut the raspy whining noise i love it ! maybe im a saddo haha yer the stock gilera runners are around 9-9.5 which seems awfully heavy to me so im gna go to about 7 then work my way down when i get the money i never bought the exhaust new i got my scooter second hand with the exhaust or i wouldnt be running a tecnigas can
You can achieve a nice sound out of a standard 50, quiet and slightly tinny purring away.... standard pipes are so underestimated - they are very quiet, you can make them look good for about £10 and a few good hours work (paint), I am not sure why but they are also phenomenally powerful when it comes to wheeling packing a huge bottom punch Whereas the majority of youngsters dont setup the exhaust properly so its blowing, "baffles" - lol, etc thats when I rather kill myself than listen to them
if there is huge clumps of rust scrub these off first with a good old thick wire brush, dont worry about scratching the good paint work as well Then, sand it down with rough wet and dry paper - p40 or p60 if it has rust on it then gradually build a smooth finish to p120 to p400 using finer sandpaper then use Very high tempreture exhaust paint, take off, or mask up the standard silencer, apply lots of thin even coats maybe 4 or 5 leaving 20 minute intervals for paint to be touch dry, then leave the exhaust for a minum of 24 hours or best 2 days... bolt the exhaust + bracket back on and voila a "like new shiny standard pipe" or for about 30 or 40 quid following the sanding steps above then take the exhaust to a proffesional chromers and have the pipe fully chrome  - cheaper and more performance than one of those "tecniwank" exhausts
yer man tecnigas exhausts suck but i need to keep it until about christmas or when i get a job going for a full 70cc setup probs a polini aluminium setup with yasuni exhaust just need this for a bit so get the right roller setup
