I've finally got a new exhaust for my Sym Jet 4 - thanks for lots of help and advice! When I fitted it, I realised the old exhaust had this part fitted, and the new one doesn't. Before I start cutting and welding to get it onto the new exhaust, does anyone know what it is?? Do I need to transfer it?
It's an air intake pipe. Earlier models were fitted with this in order to reduce emissions. Unless reducing emissions is important to you it's surplus to requirements.
Had one on mine so left it and ran pipe to front of petrol tan and folded it back on itself and cable tied it together You don't need it so leave off new exhaust
