I thought my belt was slipping, damn thing is bent and shows visable stress cracks. Has this happened to anyone before? 3000km on it, suppossed to be a good variator too. Using stock backplate with the CT Racing variator now.
its supposed to be a good variator? says who? the people who make it? peice of shit. id ditch it and run stock or polini/malossi. let this be a lesson to anyone buying cheap parts! buy right, buy once
Well, let me say this. There is a group of Super 9 owners and a few people have this variator and have been pleased. One person tests a lot of equipment and have respect for his opinions on things. I bought it second hand from someone else, he upgraded to another one. This one doesn't have the fastest top end but provides quick acceleration. It was great while it lasted, with the stock backplate there is a noticable difference. Maybe it is cheap or maybe I just got a bad one? Could be either or both..... just never seen one crack like this before. I'll save up my coin for a better more reliable and proven variator down the road. Oh, no washer behind this variator on the Super9.
No you know u got like the electric start gears ?, is there suppost to be a washer by there before you put the variator on, cause i dont have one there, the only one i have is at the end of the middle piece the little gold one
hmmm, yours is piaggio, not sure if it works different mate, i aint got a washer behind my vario Oh yeah as for the topic title what makes a variator backplate fail? Answer = Chinese Shit made by the Ling Lang Ting Tang BANG SNAP Motor Co. Seriously by a Malossi/Polini, or other well known reliable makes and you cant go wrong
