what jet do i need??

    hello

    Ive got a honda x8r with a polini sport 70cc kit, leo vince tt sports exhaust, polini hi-speed variator, 6.7g rollers, malossi belt, adjustable race clutch, race cdi unit, polini reeds and standard air box with malossi filter sponge, i having trouble getting it running properly so can what size jet do i need?
    and any other help would be handy

    what is the size of the main jet now , and are you using a standard carb or a bigger one

    oh right well if its running rich go down a few jet sizes try a 86

    The problem your having is your using a stock air box. You either need to open the box up by adding those filter plugs or getting an open air filter. The reason your rich is you don't have enough air coming in. since you have a aftermarket exhaust you should use a open filter with a 90 main jet. You need to drop the needle clip down slot too. All this is done if you have a 17.5 to 19mm carb. 14mm is to small. I used the filter plugs cause it makes the scooter still look stock. Add 3 then see how it runs if bogs somewhat add til it don't bog anymore. Good Luck

    ive tired it with a open filter and still didnt run and wot are filter plugs? and what does dropping the needle down do? im gunna down jet it

    dropping the needle down a notch leans out the mixture , just try a down jet and go from there , a new spark plug is always helpful as well

    i race pipe will lean out the mixture so taking of the stock air box will make run even leaner all you need to do is find out what the stock jet size should be then go up 10% for the pipe do this with a new plug fitted and take it for a ride and see how it is

    ohh just read your post again i forgot about the 70 kit dont forget you will need to jet for that aswell
