I am a newbie to scooters so please be nice.

I just bought a Lexmoto Milano 125 EFI from my brother.
He bought it 2 years ago, but never used it and it was sat until 2 weeks ago when I decided to buy it and fix it up. It has 8 miles on it so I decided to fix the issues regarding the battery, the brakes need bleeding, etc.
It had a full tank of fuel, which I plan to dispose of since it is so old, but when i peered into it to see if there was much sediment, I noticed this white, cloth, teabag-looking thing in the bottom of the tank.

    I have 2 questions.
    1. What is it?
    2. Is it left over from manufacture, or supposed to be there?
    3. Do I need to remove it? Or do I leave it?

    Thanks in advance all!

Hello Samuel and welcome to the forum.
That's a fuel filter sock. I should definitely leave it there if I was you :)

Thanks :D and thanks for the reply.
Interesting, so there are 2 stages of filtration? I knew about the inline one, but I had no clue there was one in the tank.
Thank you, I really appreciate it. Since this is my first vehicle, I want to be 100% on everything so I signed up to the forum to get advice from people with a little more knowledge than me.

That's basically correct, and you'll always get good advice here, even in these temporarily dark days ;)

The 'bar' looks like a fuel level sensor.
