What engine is it !

Hi I have a ajs Firefox 50cc can anyone tell me what engine it is (gy6) ? Or something else !

 

Don't they have a minerelli motor?
What year is it?

Chinese copy of a minerelli...

 

Do they have a pacific name or engine code/number , some items on the web say for Chinese engines gy6 as photo attached

 

Gy6 is a 4 stroke

 

It's 1pe or something

 

It should be stamped onto the engine, somewhere around the rear gearbox housing I think

 

It’s a 2 stroke if it helps, a lot of the parts on eBay say Gy6!

 

Gy6 is 4 stroke. It's something like 1pe just Google 1pe Chinese 2 stroke.
It's a Chinese copy of a minerelli. I think possibly minerelli parts fit it?

I think they only did a 4 stroke in that bike now, pictures of both sides of the engine please; or if you have an oil dip stick on the right hand side of the engine it's definately a 4 stroke

Does anyone know where the 2stroke res is located on a 2012 ajs firefox 50

 

In the same place as the Aerox, behind the little panel below the front of the seat.

 

Hi mate I just had him look it’s not there

 

the oil tank should look like this:



The feed pipe to the oil pump runs off the bottom of it, follow that to the pump on the lower right hand side of the engine. It is tucked away so you will need a torch or inspection light.
If the tank is not there, then it has been removed and the bike is running on premix
