Two wires, both connecting to 'metal things'? It's one of the low tension terminals of the coil, no question; we just don't know if it's the live or earth terminal.

okay its too dar to get a photo on mine atm but basically,

the red arrow shows where the snapped wire slots onto

is the green just a earth and all i need to do it take it out the loom and fit a new wire conecting to the HT and back down to the earth?

its not the actual part pointing to what is snapped, its the wire connecting to it :)

ive been looking at the wiring diagrams and its saying the green is just a earth :)

a bit of confirmation would be great, or help on how replace the wire ect,

its curently just wrapped around the ht coil attm just to get a connection haha

If you can see any of the snapped off terminal left on the coil, you might just be able to get a small self-tapping screw to bite into the plastic of the coil and touch the leftover contact. If that works, you can either bare the end of the earth wire and wrap it around the screw, or just bare the ends of a short length of wire, wrap one end around the screw as before and push the other end into the spade terminal and tape it in place.

It's a bit of an emergency bodge, but it will work.

    id
suggest taking the part off and take it into a dealership / motorcycle workshop and "ask for a price" ... they should tell you the part number etc and wut the wire is exactly

If it's just the wire that's snapped, get down to your local Halfrauds / Motor World / Car parts shop and buy some spade terminals - you can buy them in a little pack that already have the cover moulded on. Bare the end of the wire, twist it and push it into the new terminal, then carefully crimp it with the cutting part of a pair of pliers (or use the posh crimping tool if you have one).

    Job done.

check out the £shops first or your local iron mongers ... wouldnt waste cash going to halfords when they will supply you with the same product for £10 extra lol

i am also goni state the obvious and say ... make sure you replace the wire with the same grade of wire that was there before

ive gave advice to people before and thought "they're smart enough to know" and they end up screwing up and trying to pin the blame on me for not telling them 100%

    Umm wot?
You want to take out the entire length of the wire and replace it because a spade connector has broke? o_O
Just cut off the broken one, strip the wire and crimp on a new one.

There should be no cutting and replacing of wires needed. Just cut off the broken connector, strip back about half an inch of the wire, twist the copper strands together, push them into the new spade connector and crimp it. That's it, it really is that simple.
