Stage 6 sport pro(70cc) Stage 6 pro exhaust Pm tuning full circle crank SKF main bearing and seal kit Stage 6 manifold Polini hi speed control kit Malossi delta clutch Dell'orto 17.5mm carb pm tuning air filter Upjet'rollers etc. Can anyone tell me how long the rings will last ? And how long till they need changing. Also anything I should ask/change ? Debating 21mm carb though. Maybe a bar conversion. Thanks.
the rings will last depending on how well the engine is maintained it is a single ringed kit so there not as realiable as other kits but if you maintain them i think there fine.and bar conversion would look good but what you gonna do with the headlight??
Hi, thanks for the reply. I really need to know how many miles they can do.... What's the signs of it going down, I know how to maintain the kit so should be ok I supoose..... And going to just fit them where the idi's are.... If it turns out it wont pass it, I'll look at 'day time m.o.t's? As i've got my speedfight for normal running around, Just fancy something to have abit of fun on for the summer before I get my car
find out how many miles it does by using it..... you can tell when rings are on there way out as the bike decides it doesent like starting on the electric start yet fires first kick. compression tester is also a good way of checking. otherwise its a case of whipping the head off every now and again and physically checking it out. easiest way is remove the head, turn the engine to top dead centre.. then push the piston about side to side/up and down. if the piston can touch the barrel wall you are DEFFO in need of atleast a new set of rings.
Forget the bar conversion, itll be a pain, the headlight will have to be relocated and to make it look good would require it to be done well. if you have the time and money then go for it, but its not really worth it in my opinion
Thank-you for the reply MiNoR will keep that in mind. RelentlessDan, I'm pushing away from it now, Mates moped took to mĂșch work to get his bar conversion to work and road legal...
zip bars are extended... if you fit a bar conversion you ether need a stupidly long stem wich looks fucking atrotious or you end up lowering the bars by a good 4 or 5 inch.. my knees hit a zip as they come out of the box. let alone dropping them any lower. baaaaaad idea in my opinion
