Hopefully someone can help? I have got a Generic race 50 for my son and have donre the following to it: Technigas exhaust Cone filter Race reeds amd block Derestricted CDI Rejeted the carb Made sure there is no washer in the Veri-thingy Made sure the carb is not restricted Opened up the exhaust port The bike has 10000km on the clock However the very best we can get out of it down a slight hill is 40mph Any suggestions? Many thanks in advance
The standard carb which is hard to measure but I THINK it is a 14 mm As for the exhaust port, it was totally restricted due to the half moon shape that it had. Since opening it up the throttle is more responsive at low power however it still hasn't helped the top end
I'm going to throw a shot in the dark here, but you've changed the dynamics of the back pressure considerably. In other words, by adding a sports exhaust, open filter, ported the head, you're letting the exhaust gases out much quicker than the air/fuel mix is getting in. I'm pretty sure you need to up the carb to at least a 17.5 and re-jet to suit. Check the colour of the plug as well, a nice dark ginger would be nice to find.
This had gone through my mind and the route of going for a 17.5mm however not sure which one to opt for with auto choke and premix. Any suggestions? Alternatively one with a Manila choke lever which will mean I will have to create a access pa el to the carb
I agree with the above suggestion , fuelling diffnetely needs altering if exhaust and air intake has been changed , suggest a big bore kit too. Also are you 100% the cdi is derestricted ?
sounds like its a mineralli motor, or a copy of one at least, they have a 14.5 gurtner if i recall? those motors should do easy 50mph just with restrictor ring removed... +1 on putting a 17mm carb on there.... and ditch the cone filter and use either a sponge or an airfilter box...
