Still doing up a old nrg mc3 in which engine was stood for 18 months, piston was stuck but freed itself and got it started but a lot of smoke, anyway messed about with the carb as it wouldn't tick over properly after reving.I tried it again the other day it started gave it a good rev to about 7000 revs,it cut out and now wont start, checked the carb for blockages reeds and auto choke.Changed the plug,as the old one was black and wet stll wont start now the new plug is black and wet.I think the rings are shot from where it was a bit stuck any other ideas

Do a compression test, with a tester not your finger; probably find the piston shot.

Will do,if I use my finger will probably poke it too far into the hole and smash it lol

Ok just tried to fit a new head and piston but noticed there seemed to be a lot of black oil in crank I gather this isn't normal or is it.Or does it mean something else oil seals gone cheers.
