welding crank cases

    as you probably know i cracked my engine :( :(
    been off road for like 3 wweeks now , and i need 2 ride again lol the last . thing i rode was an aerox 50... anyway would it be alright to get the crack welded temporarily while i sell the SHITPIECE engine i got off one7twoboi,
    my crack is about an inch and a half long and isnt on the seam. but i just wanted to hear from someone who knows if it will be alright for a week or two.

    drill a hole in the furthest/deepest part of the crack... it wont grow then.. should be fine for a while.. most aeroplane wings are cracked to fuck and still used.. takes more than 50% surface area for ali to completly let go so keep an eye on it

    cant get the front pulley off and there was water in the crankcases when i got it

    buy a puller/smash the pulley off then rebuild... not hard really is it.

    as for the crack, you are beter off welding as its weak and a new crack can form from sheer force. drill the end to stop that growing then backweld it. drillin alone works, for a while then the problems worse/your engine is in 2 bits and theres a shitload of it skidded onto the road, along wiht your leg LOL

    lol yeh im taking it to get welded on saturday, only temporary though until i find another engine, i would buy a puller tool to get the pulley off but money is the major issue lol and then i need to rebuild it, and because its been sitting around for so long the stator is probably gonna end up being fucked aswell, then ive got the bastardly job of gettin the magneto off.. arent peds fun LOL :w00t:

    rebuild is new bearings pump and gasgets and a couple hours work. so ye, tis fun having a ped.. my engines been apart more times than i remember and its only been on road a month

    lol but you're minor the engine man, trust me if i knew how to do a rebuild i would have my cases apart quicker than you can say 'everyonebuyakillswitchorgetstckthrottleanddie' when i get hold of a shit engine im gonna hav a go
