hello. i have a jog r AC. recently my ped stopped working , so i took the cylinder off and the top round bit of a little screw fell out. the top of the piston and the cylinder head have now got a mark(dent) where this screw got hot and welded into it.i found out the screw fell out of the reed block. now i put it back together and it works but when i rev low or am going along and then stop reving it it makes a weird like rattling sound.(like a rattle snake but metalic). and a clicking type sound. any ideas what could be causing this noise? i havent yet found the other piece of the screw.
the piston is probbaly fucked/misshaped and ratteling about like mad.. take it off, messure it up and refer to the manual specifications. small end would have taken a beating and as youve jammed something between the piston and head then the space has to have been taken up somwhere else, probably bent the conrod in the process... could be something small and insignificant, but from what youve explained it doesent sound good
if its fucked its fucked allready? so checking it and finding its fucked means replacing it... if its running then use it, if it is what i think it is you will probably be in need of a new crank and kit befor long. saying this it could be something simple. try get a clear video of the problem and ill try diagnose it further.
ok thankyou. i took the whole cylinder off 2day and looked at it.it seemed fine. also i looked at the crank and it looked straight to me. to be honest it actually sounds like the other half of the screw is rattling around in there still. just dont know where it could be.
yup... put it on youtube then post a link if you suspect a peice of metal ratteling about inside your engine FIND IT. long magnet down the reedblock window will usually get stuff like this out, if any.
ok. it only make this sound when the ped is not under strain. when going fast its ok its just when letting throttle off and when its idle. when i took it apart and had the cylinder off u know the end of the connecting rod shaft by the bearings , it slid a little left and right. is that normal? p.s ill make a video and send it u as soon as i can. thanks.
a little in and out movement on the crankshaft is perfectly normal, its known as endfloat. could be a worn part in the starter mechanism rubbing... i could sit here all night guessing tbh
