I have just got my typhoon engine back for my lambretta from Pete at TDR who did my 55mm crank along with porting and case matching and at the time i asked him about what he recommended for stator ie ac or wc..now i had a wc fitted WHEN the bike was a twin  !!but pete suggested i go with an ac one..So I bought one along with flywheel and cdi but now after reading a few posts is it worth me putting it back to a wc stator/flywheel??.. Am i gunna make it unreliable as i thought more advance ...more heat !!..does anyone one run a ac sr or typh with a kit and a wc setup ???

quite a few people on here have used wc cooled flywheels, stators and cdi's i think its because the timings are better i know minor had a interesting post about this you would have to search for it tho im sure that would help alot

Seriously search. It's been covered a hell of a lot of times and recently too. And that's coming from someone who runs a lc stator/flywheel on his ac bike.

I read in a piaggio tech bulletin the factory Runner CDI module has got two non progressive ignition advances, 9 deg @ 1500rpm & 22 deg at 7500rpm.
Apparently the aircooled engine CDI is locked at 19 deg.

Does that mean the LC engine revs higher and goes harder than the AC?

I hooked up a tachometer to me (factory spec) skipper 150 AC and it was not going higher than 6000rpm

I did a search on the board and someone mention you can put the LC CDI module into an AC engine - would that make the AC engine rev higher or just melt it?

i think that is the post mate i copied and pasted it, here is the full topic http://www.scootershack.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=21002
