No, Straightliners have cut through all of the red tape to try to encourage more racers into the sport. There are some requirements/rules etc but basically your scooter gets Scrutineered by a NSA Licensed Scrutineer at the start of the day and if you pass off you go. You can even get a license for the day which you can get on the day. All of the info, rules/regs are on the straightliners website http://www.straightliners-events.co.uk/event/about.html
Unfortunately none of the runner wheels or the NRG front wheels that I have fit whith the booster forks. One Aerox front wheel purchased from eBay and should be here early next week.
i have a feeling a neos/jog wheel will fit those forks too... hmmmmm what sort of ET do you think you will run? do you run 1/8th or 1/4?
I'm building it for the 1/4, I haven't got a clue regarding what time or top speed yet. First time out its just going to have a standard 125 engine with a malossi 172 off the shelf porting a pm59 pipe and a 28mm carb. Standard gearing etc. I'm doing this just so I can get used to the frame and riding position. Once the first run is out of the way and I'm happy with how it rides then I can start on the other balls out motors
