With the shite weather we are having running my open air filter is near impossiblle i have cleaned my carb soo many times i am currently running with half a plastic bottle over the filter and it seems to be doing the trick but i see this clip on youtube a wile back but never put the two togeter untill now

from first thoughts it seems like the perfect solution as the water would run straight off the filter and air particals will be pulled through wile water particles are repelled??

if anyone knows diffrent could you let me know so i dont go f*cking up my engine lol

    heres the website http://www.neverwet.com/anti-wetting.php

have you actually put any filter oil on your filter ?
you do know that foam fiters and even the foam insert in the stock air box needs to be covered in filter oil and guess what as its oil its also water proof.
on my old kx125 i was running a foam fiter and used to get it soaked and never had a problem with the air filter aslong as it was covered in filter oil

    thnx for the reply

the filter that was sucking in the rain was a K&N style filter with what looked like wire mesh so i didnt think to put oil on it but i have just got a ram air foam/sponge filter and covered it in castrol airfilter oil, i havent ridden it in the rain yet but hoping as you said that it will keep it from sucking in water.

even though it said first time fitment no need for oil =/

if its brand new then most come with a coating of filter oil.
the mesh filter you had on are crap and let everything in there more for track bikes no good for road use with all the dust about. The foam ones are much better but not as good as the air box
