while looking at my scooter engine I noticed how dirty it looks and have seen some utube videos of people using pressure washers to clean them I am aware you can probably damage the engine so what's the best way way to clean the engine.

Get a can of degreaser.. I live by this stuff it's the bollox! Just be carefull of wiring.. I had a black engine used this stuff using the pressure of the spary to wash it away and look like shop floor standard now.. You will be amazed what this stuff can do, don't use wd40 it shit

which engine degreaser do you use and is it the stuff you leave then wash off which removes all the oil and crap on it just thought as I have nothing to do i might as well clean the engine up and see how it looks after

It's a spary can.. Can get different makes but I usally get mine out of QDs for £1 works great.. Yellow can, Oil dirt dust you name it it removes it, I used about 3 full cans to clean the hole complete engine, at an OCD level.. iv even used it inside the transmission area before, just Don't get it on the belt or starter bendix if your do clean bendix with it make sure to degrease it abit as it will jam after a while it left dry..
