Only issue was following my mate along the coast from Malaga his engine went boom & by the time we'd sorted out a recovery truck I'd missed check in so a bit miffed, ah well.
looks like the small end bearing failed...... looks expensive too..... ive never done a track day, there is a track not far from where i live that has had loads of money poured into it.
thats a common problem wityh those new nissan 4x4s (pathfinder?) a load of them got recalled and had the cranks and conrods replaced.... will your mates insurance cover the damage?
I don't think it has a small end bearing, it is just a wrist pin and circlips, like my zed. Some of the early models had problems with oil failing to get to number 3 big end properly, blowing that, but that looks like number 4 has gone instead. The engine is obviously scrap now, but the head and gearbox components can be salvaged and sold on to recoup some funds to put towards a replacement engine, about £500 should get you a decent one.
yep its been a big problem. ive transported three over to Nissan lately. the juke has a similar issue too.
I think you've lost the thread here, it's not a nissan thats shot a rod, its a kawasaki motorcycle. Where'd you get nissan from???
