Hi everyone. Im Hitter D from Croydon, London.

    Just a quick question.

After reading my warranty booklet, it states that the warranty doesn't cover any damage caused by alteration, neglect, misuse or abuse. Does this mean i can get it derestricted and still keep the warranty (although damaged caused to the variator due to removal of ring will not be covered)?
It says nothing about voiding the warranty so surely it will be fine.?!?!

it means if you derestrict it and it goes bang its your fault. alot of parts arnt coverd by the warrenty anyway so i dont see the point, brakes, cables, belts, tyres, none of its coverd somhow so i dont see the point in having it in the first place. if its a 2 wheels ahead warrenty you might aswell throw your book away as any work they do will make things worse.

pleasssse dont mention 2 wheels ahead. omg it has to be the worst scooter workshop ever. my mate just went in to get his air filter jetted cos he couldn't do it and they ended up swapping his mudguard for an old dirty one and jetting it horribly plus it cost him 20 quid

I emailed my dealer, they said as long as the derestriction is carried out by a official aprillia dealer my warranty is safe.

When I bought my Typhoon it was new and I every conversation I had with Piaggio or a Piaggio Dealer, or even another employee it seemed was different information.
I got the same feedback you said there about it being ok if carried out by a dealer. In the same hand though I was told nope it's void because it's been altered. The woman I spoke to from India gave me as much help as I got elsewhere with her "what is a district?" answer.
I'd take off the restrictions you can put back on, do that yourself. If you need help everyone on here is there for you. Then if you're going to do the exhaust just buy a new one.
Then not only can you stick a couple of parts back on if something goes bang but if you sell it you can say it's restricted OR derestricted.

is there even a warranty seal on the tranny case? could always keep the washer and standard exhaust if a warranty job is needed?
