Hi there I am getting bored of my 180 and want more grunt and a little extra topend. I was going to buy a low mileage VXR200 engine for my 180. But I was thinking would maybe a 250 from an X9 or something fit without too much work? The 200 engine wont make much difference to what I got now without tuning it which will work out more expencive, hence why I want a bigger engine!

Also, has anyone had a 180/200 4 stroke engine out of their ped before? Was it hard to remove the engine? I can see it will be a 2 person job because of the weight of the bike unless I can make a stand.
Is it alot more complex than whipping the engine out of a 50?

    Cheers

rite wat u wanna do really if u want more grunt and top end is take the pussy hole four stroke engine out ur bike and put a 2 stroke 172 engine in it, change the wiring lume and put a bad boy in the bike. thats the best way urll get lots of power.

Not really a 4 stroke 250 engine is very reliable does 70mpg and does 90mph easily :w00t:

Only trouble is you basically need a whole x9 250 evo bike as you need al the electrics etc . its bollocks really but the technology is alot more advanced so you need to change alot

Would the 250 leader engine pretty much slide straight in without much hassle though? Because i would buy an X9 from the scrapyard for pennys aslong as its got all electrics and an engine.

If not then I might just leave it alone and get a nice runner 50 to waste alot of time and money on trying to convert to a 2t 125 but that sounds like hassle from what ive heard on here. Its probably easy to bodge it but I would want to do a good job so it would be up to mot standards

Was just thinking this morning could I use my 180 electrics and loom on a 250? or would I have to swap all the electrics too?
If so, would rather just put a 200 engine in it!

what about those 210 4 stroke kits? if i ever got a 4 stroke runner or dna i always wanted to use one
are they unreliable or do you just not want the hassle?

waste of time.. bette roff with the stock 200 and a flowed head. the strain the displacment puts on the engine is unworthy of the gains. 200 reground cam dropped down, flowed head, decent pipe an everything matched.... 4t power comes from the head.... everything below top dead centre is simply made to last and spin nicely.. so strength and balance... no real power form the bottom end of a 4t. just reduce weight balance and so on. ALL the power comes from the top

Yeh im not after alot more power just a little, plus the 180 engine in it is 9 years old not done that many miles only 27,000m but would be nice to have a 200 in there and basiclly just swap engines instead of mucking about with elecs and other stuff.

Would a 200 engine run well with a mallossi cam and vavle kit? Not sure if these are made just for the 210kit?
Then maybe I can experiment with the 180 and 210kit it, doesent matter if it goes pop

thas 360 quid for there cheesy spanish steel......

MUCH better option,t alk to a DECENT cam grinder.. give em the crank and a general idea of how you want the power to come in... they will grind it, lower it (to attain higher lift after grinding obviously) and it will work REALLY well... ground cranks have less surface area so wear quicker, but this is prittymuch irelevent with the mnialage these engines see...

200 engine, stokcer, ground crank, bigger carb, head work, decent pipe.. sorted. MUCH faster than ANY bolt on 4t scoot!
