heya, before i put a wanted/swap ad up, will a vxr200 engine fit on my vx125? old shape one. want to swap my 172 for vxr engine, but only if they fit obv

want to swap a runner 172, with spare engine (minus crank) and wheel for a vxr200 engine (assuming they fit) and like £200 to pay the insurance just wondered if they fit before i bother looking for one
a 200vxr isnt much different to a kitted out 172... ross, when u get ur hands on a 200 and fit it in lemme know how it goes i wanna replace my vx125 with one
i see it that he has a vx125, and he wants to put a 200vxr engine in it, which he wants to swop with a 172 2 stroke engine which is spare
i've got a vx125 aaaand a runner 172 with a spare 125 engine. want to swap the runner 172 with all the spare shite for a vxr200 engine to put on the vx. i know its slower but it uses like no petrol and will sit flat out all day without going pop and buying two stroke oil pisses me off now, had loads of 2 strokes and it gets to you. so yeh, if the vxr200 engine fits on my vx125 (which is the main question) i'll swap one for the runner 172 and its spare 125 engine minus a crank.
oh, the runner has crappy black paint job and back brake doesnt work. hence swap. prob still want £200 on top of the vxr tho, guessing vxr engine is £250? meh
yes, any 4t engine fits in any 4t runner. there may be slight differences with the mount but there interchangable. the only diff between the 2 anfd 4t is the lack of a second shock mount on the 2t frame. if i were you id just buy a vxr engine from ebay. they go for peanuts and then sell the runner for the part value. the deal you described doesent sound too bad but 1, is the vxr engine complete with paperwork? and 2. is it a good engine in the first place? could be of stolen/unknown origin for all you know.
the runner 172 i have has a v5 as does the spare engine. want to get rid of both. either sell it all for £450 or swap for the vxr200 engine and £200
oh and the spare engine (the 172's original) has 4599 miles on it but no crank because wheely-tastic last owner seized that bit. so its everything but a crank. the engine i've just put in it is a piaggio one off an older runner which i've also got but will be scrapping. thats done 17k but now has a newish 172 top end. and a scorpion with a gey scuff. i'll take a pic later and put it in for sale bit, there's loads of shite, spare gearing, spare belt, 2 125 top ends, spare back wheel, spare cases, carb, blah blah etc
right, just to be sure. the engine you have the v5 for. this isnt just a part of the v5 for another vehicle is it? its registerd scrap correct (otherwise the bike can be stolen a the other engd of the coubntry and you will be in possesion of stolen goods)
nope not registered scrap yet. basically i've got 3 runners. 1 vx that i'm keeping. the other 2 are two strokes. one was written off (the blue one) when i bought it but still has a proper v5, which i'm waiting for to be sent back to me in my name from dvla. i only bought this as it was cheaper than buying a new crank for the seized 172 (black). so i've taken the engine off that and pt the 172 on it. when i send the v5 off for the black one i'll notify the change in engine numbers but will sell the scoot with its old engine (minus seized crank) and all the stuff i could salvage from the written off one, fuel tank, wheel, carb etc. both bought from people i went to school with. think thats about it, bit of a rant ha. its easier with pictures, but yeh, all have v5's and none are scrapped yet! the blue one will be when i send the v5 when i get it from the dvla, but only if the new buyer for both wants it to
oh, and athena belt is in the box of stuff. wider than normal apparently. i've got to finish putting the engine on the black one. if i cant be arsed i'll prob put the whole lot up for £350? but if i get it all done, £450 i guess or the vxr engine and £200 dont know which is better deal
