ok so I am about to apply for the V5 for my Aprilia project as it didn't come with the bike when I bought it.
Now I have done the Total Car Check thing and it is all clear, not nicked, written off or anything bad like that. The problem I have is that on the V62 form I need to fill in the VIN number. The chassis plate on this bike has been cut in half and the vin number is unreadable.
So is there a way to find the vin number by another means? I am pretty stumped on this one!
    Any help greatly appreciated.

Well solution found. After trying several 'tricks' that various motor forums swore would work, I went out to the bike and wrote down what I could identify and managed to get it complete. Form completed and off to the DVLA in the morning.

Ha ha thanks mate. Not sure juju was involved though. More to do with there being beer in the fridge and a surprising lack of other things to do.

Also written on MOT certificates and comes up on a HPI report . Also you can get it from any mot station , ask them to get a duplicate or just MOT history , it comes up on their screen (cheaper than HPI too)
