Wed night had what i suspect was a front tyre blowout while going round a roundabout 2up. lucky was only going 20-25mph, had been making good progress before that along the A roads and much faster through the other roundabouts, so if i didn't id still be in hospital now. sv took a proper battering, is ALOT worse than the pictures let on
Fuck. What caused the dink in the rim? Those crash bungs didn't seem to work, is the frame ok? Most importantly, how you feeling fella, you alright? + passenger
try give you a visual picture lol coming down the road towards roundabout bout 60mph? braking early and smooth, loads of time not a car in sight. heading straight on so im leaning but not enough to get into a low slide situation. 1/2way through roundabout, next thing i know bike felt as if it moved 1/2 yard left. quickly followed by bike now on its side, we slide into the curb, bike mounts curb for about 5ish meters then appears to of flipped over and travelled 20meters down the road. so rim must of hit curb quite hard and with no inflated tyre to soften the blow ended up like that. extremely irritated as it wasn't my fault/doing. but aint shit i can do bout it. were alright cheers fella, like i said wern't going that fast luckily, 10mph more would of been carnage. just abit battered n bruised. will be a fucking expensive repair.
How annoying, any ideas on why it did it, like tyre pressures or anything? Good your alright, bro had an off last night (rant topic), lucky he wern't going faster, no broken bones or anything. It's annoying that you can't turn round and go, "well if I took the roundabout slower etc" because there is nothing on your part you did wrong. What's the plans on repairs? Bro's still shook up and doesn't know what to do with it really. R&Gs are mean't to be well recommended, I've got a set on mine.
shit man sorry to see that hope you arnt too shook up. just repair the fairings mate, recon a 2nd hand front wheel and youll be back on the road in no time, hope all is well soon
dam man should always check your tyres lol, i just noticed mine was flat as some one decide to 12 wheelie it.....
cheers for the concern lads; front wheel just cost me £100 ffs anyone wanna chip in for new bodywork? imp:
no hospital ftw! NEVER gaffa tape up your brother just so he can get back on the road lol hope you get it all sorted stevo mate, panels can be repaired no need to replace just yet
Glad your ok stevo. Seems us older lot are all binning bigger bikes now. I'm terrified of a front end blow out with the gf on the back. =(
ouch, looks like my vfr after just falling on its side, they need to stop making bikes out of paper mashay (weight vs build quality hmm) :wtf: :msn1:
