im new to tuning and have done all this to my bike.. 70cc kit, bigger carb multivar malossi variator, dr. pulley weights, yellow contra and stiffer clutch springs, and a technigas r exhaust. now my problem is it tops out at about 50 mph at 12000 rpm. I think that is too high. right? ive been reading online that there is a power curve for tourqe and horsepower and i think im over shooting it, so my QUESTION is how to get the best out of my horsepower and tourqe....? diff drive gear? is so how do i chse and where do i get one?? any other suggestions? thanks, joe
rollers will affect how much resistance remains on the crank at any given speed... this is how the variator basicly works.. its a torque converter. the weights need to be decreased to raise rpm and reduce load (letting it go higher into the band if its below it.. if it over revs its powerband the acceleration will be lost and you will just get revs galore) the weights are increased to increaser the load on the crank.. too heavy tho and you continually loose rpm untill you a. get to a point it just cant rev (if atall) or b keep falling off rpm untill it just plain stalls out/"bogs" at full throttle.
