Hi, I have a gilera DNA 50 and I fitted a new variator it came with a small spacer but I didn't fit it as it didn't look right, I then went on a test ride and got to about 30 mph and it sounded like you crunch a gear then the gearbox falling out the bottom of the car, took it out and it had destroyed itself, is that fitting error or did they send me a dodgy one? How would you fit a sport variator to a gilera DNA 50 too? As I want to research it before I get another and I can't find any instructions anywhere?
    Cheers boys!
    Luke.

On a Malossi variator eg 125 2t, there is a spacer that goes on the crank before the variator due to different ramp shape.

Minarelli 50cc engine also needs the washer behind the variator

I do know that with the gilrea/piaggio engines the variator has to be kept in exact place of original because of the bendix it can’t be moved up or down the crank shaft..
