Hey guys - basically today I changed my Zip's rollers etc then I got onto taking apart the Runner and all was going well up until the part I had to take the nut off the variator.

To say it's tight is an understatement! It will not budge at all & I'm pretty much out of ideas & the nut is slightly rounded.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks, Matt.

Yeah that was what I was going to do - think I'm going to nip to the local garage tomorrow.

A bit of a shitter how some come off just fine & others need the tools, just how it is though I guess haha.

Cheers for confirming that mate. :good:

cheap/older sockets grip the corners of a nut and are prone, when the going gets tough, to rounding the corners........ quality sockets drive from the walls/flats of the nut, and do far less damage and grip with more torque.

you need something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/12V-DC-ELECTR...Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item3a5e93b881 i got mine from maplins a couple of years a go and it works a treat getting the variator and clutch nuts off with no problems, the post charge is a bit high but a usefull tool in a lot of ways,i would not use the supplied sockets as they are cheap quality,i use impact sockets which i get mine from halfords, for the electric wrench you could try a local car shop as they may keep one in stock
