what is the best variator kit for my mbk nitro with a doppler S3R exhaust. anybody also know if variator kits are worth getting, has anyone got one on there ped and wat sort of difference does it make? any help appreciated
any variator will give better acceleration because they potomise the engines power for pure acceleration rather than nice soft use (stock are made to pull nicely without straning the engine) the ramps in any aftermarket variator are desighned for maximum speed/accel rather than engine life. ive used all of them and found the multivar to be a verry nice peice of kit but the polini overrange adds top speed aswell as optomising accel so in my book its the best of the bunch. ether way your bike will sit flat at full revs all the way through the transmissions transitional period at the expence of engine life short answer is speed = dead engine quicker. tuning parts take full advantage of this but who cares. speed is everything. parts are cheap
ok thanks for the help minor going to be ordering these over the weekend off donotlink pedstop, ive been told to also get a polini race belt because it will be needed for the new polini variator. is this right? http://www.donotlink-pedstop.co.uk/p/PO ... --132.aspx http://www.donotlink-pedstop.co.uk/p/PO ... T-172.aspx anybody recommend other companies to use for these products? cheers
well it will put more strain on the belt.. so dependin on how old ure standard 1 is.. cud depend on how long before it snaps ben.
well it says that the polini drive belt will give better acceleration so im going to get one anyway. i love the spec of ur mbk hursty and the doppler s3r exhaust is a gud choice
will all be malossi stuff soon.. as ive heard that the malossi multivar is better than the polini kit but what gets me.. is that malossi dont make their own parts.. but polini build engines.. yet malossi are better ben.
because i've had one on my area51 for 23,000 miles now and it's still looking pretty fresh, there is a distinct wear groove but its as strong if not stronger than OE and i can't fault the power delivery once setup right (although getting roller weights right seems more tempremental than stock)
secondly.. what are good belts? x kev special x kev or a polini belt? (sorry about hi-jacking for a second) ben.
i used a dayco for about 4000 miles then replaces with a kevlar x and that did 10,000, now on the second kevlar x (would recomend changing after 5000), belts both still in one peice but getting a bit worn (top speed is down and acceleration isnt as good as before.
what would be the gains of lets say a malossi mhr outerpully.. with all of the malossi varo and belt etc
no worries about thread highjacking mate lol i need an answer though people. what shall i go for, either polini or malossi ?????? i dont know what to go for. has anybody had experiences with both? help appreciated
yes, ive used them both, multivar gives good flat accel yet the overrange polini gives more top speed aswell. so polini is my vote as its less than 60 with a belt
polini it seems to be then mate, thanks for advice. where have you seen the polini variator kit with a belt for £60 ?
polini speed control kit you can buy them from scooter attack scooter centre and pm tuning i just paid £65 for it and thats includin vat and £12 for 24 hour delivery
