break the nut and then put the clutch on the floor. Load your body weight ontop and get a friend to undo the nut. Its easy and theres not as much tension there as you expect. Just make sure you let the pressure off slowly and even

It really is easy once you've done it the first time

yeah what he said  .

you may want a vice or something to hold the clutch while youre putting the sprngs in though, they can be proper sto0f

And our lovely assistant Capri Dave will demonstrate how to remove the hex nut using an impact wrench :good:

Go Argos with £20. You'll need to get the right size socket elsewhere though.

I did it without an Impact Wrench mate, Just got a socket for the nut, Mate held clutch and i twisted, easy as piss. the Spring isnt tight as you think it is, i was expecting it to fly acorss the room, But it doesnt even push your arms up. Really easy job, Just as easy as the variator

you can get an old car wheel aswell and place it over the top and compress it so the spring dont jump out @ ur boat race .lol

I'd still get a cheap impact wrench, once you've got one you'll be using it for other stuff, E.G changing rollers.
Better than getting different locking tools for everything, couldn't live without mine lol.

OH yeah, Like Minor just said, Use a hammer, Just get a extention rod thing, and if its longer, u got more leverage so it will be easier, i just hit it with a mallet, hard, like 10 times, and it does budge, Put it on something that wont slip, like an old rubber car matt. :good:

3/4 girly hits usually does it.... ive had FUCKING tight ones impact wrenches wouldent do yet wiht the help of polly got them apart in a few taps.... holding it is the challenge.. (close to your chest, on your left side to loosen, right side to tighten)

but ye... lots of ways to undo a nut LOL i prefer lockers for variators... cant get the right torque wiht an impact wrench and theres a fine line on a variator between the nut just comming off and you snapping your crank (its opvertightening them that causes the variator section of any crank to just break off, verry common tbh) i NEVER od a 50 variator wiht an impact wrench... too heavy handed a tool
