Right... this morning my mate dropped his gilera runner 50 off so i could fit his exhaust and adjust the rollers (hes coming back at 2). I've got the exhaust fitted and have the case off to get to the variator. I've just locked the variator so i can take the nut out. However, the nut really doesn't want to come out, I've pulled it at as hard as possible (trying not to damage anythinG) but it won't come out. Any ideas? Anything i'm not doing? ANy help would be greatly appreciated as I say hes coming to pick it up in about an hour!
Thanks WOLFFY. Looks like thats what will have to do (well he will). Just annoying, as I've had to take all the casing off for nothing.
I wern't trying to be funny mate. Have you got a locking tool on it or nothing at all? If you haven't got a locking tool (as I thought you may have one as you said "I've just locked the variator so I can take the nut out") then do as Wolffy says and get a impact wrench
Its cool mate. I've got it locked like below (quick draw up in photoshop): The red circle being the nut I'm trying to remove. It still wouldn't come off and I put everything back as it was for when he came. So a impact wrench would probably do the trick?
Yeah mine wouldn't shift either mate i rounded the nut off . then melted the nut to my crank LOL then i just cut the crank in half lmao
