    Hi everyone, newbie here

Ive got an MBK booster 50 with a technigas exhaust, 21mm carb, and gear up kit 56%
the plan was to put an athena 70cc on it, but i checked with my insurer and they are being slags and not covering it, so i was thinking would it be worth putting an unlimted CDI on it instead to get the extra rpm to get the most out of the gear up kit ?

    Thanks in advance
    Ed

You put a 56% gear up on a 50cc? To get more performance remove it right now and put stock back in.
Forget the cdi it wont do anything.

56% ?? You would need about 30hp and about a million rpm to pull away with that gearing!

Your insurers will cover a bigger carb, sports exhaust and gear up but not the 70cc kit??

    Sounds a bit strange!

You could just pikey it - i.e. fit the 70cc kit and grind off any brand/capacity markings...

a 70 kit changes the engine displacement (and makes it illegal for a 16yr old) which is why they wont cover it.

personally id just bang a 70 kit on and keep shtum (keep the original parts incase of a claim) ....buying anything else is a waste of money on a 50cc

cheers for the help everyone, without the 70 on and with the gear up it does go some i got about 40 out of on flat, but takes a while to get there haha, im gonna go down the route that u33db suggested, fit the 70 and grind off the markings etc or the stage 6 kit...

As Marsh said anyway that gear up kit is far to big for any 70cc kit you would buy.

No it wont. Even with a 70cc kit it still wont pull those gears and it will make your acceleration crap.
