Tyre???

    im a due a new tyre and just wondering if a 130/70/13 will change gearing as its got a higher side wall (larger tyre), ive got a 120/70/13 on at the moment ?

    chances are you wont know any different, higher side tyres tend to have a less curved face.

    erm, thas a thinner tyre not a larger profile... :confused:arc:

    fair point there.


    i thought it was height of sidewall/width of tyre (in percent of height of sidewall)/rim size

    will run a smaller profile if the width is smaller on the same profile as the tyre stretches over a larger area hence looses profile. will loose top end and basicly its illegal and dangerouse. dont play with the width. if you wanna drop to a 130/60 you can do to give you a little more grunt and tighter handeling, ride will be bumpier tho
