typhoon cdi?

    just bought an 09 typhoon engine for my 02 typhoon, when I was fitting the engine I noticed where the cdi is there are no wires to connect to the engine i was just wondering if i need to buy a new cdi for the newer engine? if so where can i get one? cheers :)

    It's all the same engine as far as I know so everything should plug in as usual. Get some pics up.

    well on this one its a 6 pin plug just underneath the stator where as on the old engine it was a grey cable running from the back of the engine. i just need the wire what runs from the stator to the cdi, il try and get pics up tomorrow.

    wire from stator to cdi ? its a part of the stator itself pluging into cdi. :blink:

    The problem is your 02 engine uses the older (long wire) stator system and the new 09 engine uses the more modern (short wire) system.
    Old has the two grey wire looms coming out the back of the stator and running under the carb to the main loom.
    New has the single black (std piaggio) plug below the fan cover/water pump if LC.
    Your old 02 wiring loom is a mis-match for the new 09 stator.

    Simply swap the stators and put your older 02 stator in the new 09 engine, this way it will match your older wiring loom.No need to buy another CDI.
