Well after a break from the whole scooter scene I went and bought a Piaggio Zip and planned a few modifications, nothing really all tht exciting but should be a nice day to day run around and a bit of fun. One thing I've always wanted, is a Typhoon! Funnily enough one came up recently for £120 - I thought it was my lucky day but after no communication I thought it'd gone. He called today to say if I wanted it I could have it for £80 so I arranged a van and got there ASAP. It's rough, very rough. Kick's seized, it's battered and only really seen it in dark light. In the end, he took £45 for it! Paid £15 for man with a van to bring it back so all in all £60, I must admit I'm really happy about it! Just looked and insurance is only £180 a year (£40 more than a Zip 50) so this will be a long term project that will hopefully end up 172'd and give me something to move onto.
He did seem a little on edge, first thing I said was that he was on something! Hoping I get some Zip bits tomorrow so can do a few bits on that then I really want to get stuck into the Typhoon - just trying to resist buying a 172 kit & 28mm carb!
