Hi people i have a problem with my scooter on the last 3 occasions now while riding my scooter loses power and dies i pull over and try to re start it (using electric start or kicking) and it wont start and just turns over and over but then after leaving it a few seconds it starts up fine and then rides without a problem any help would be great Thanks it advance Michael.
try slightly unscrewing the petrol filler cap then see if it goes, my 125 did this when i got it and it was a trapped vac pipe from the inlet manifold to the fuel pump for the aux fuel tank under the footboards. another symptom of this is only being able to fill up with about 4 quids worth of fuel.
brand new plug in it dont think its that Hmmmm i will try this in a bit as from empty it only takes about 4 quid to fill up and i have probably trapped it as i put another fuel pump on it when i got it thanks
i Currently have the same problem..but its a new bike..jonway thunder 2stroke 50cc would it just be a lack of fuel to the Chamber? or the CDI?
i can garantee its got the old type stator and rectifier.... theres a few things that cause this phantom stoppage wiht the opld looms hence they changed over to the new type. take the starter motor wiring off and give that a clean, re install and cover in silicone. remove the flywheel and check the condition of all the wire/copper coil connections on the stator.. check the cdi also as there seperate wires on these cdi's and they can bend a little and touch..... theres lots of lil things it can be.. basicly tho your engines not earthing or your not producing a spark.... had this with an old nrg... had it with a typh, had it with lots of friends bikes. easiest way to sort it is just swap over to a new shape loom/stator/cdi... need to cut a little bit on the engine but its not major and i can throw pics up... the spares for the old loom's are hard to find these days too (rec's) so when your headlights give up (wich they will) you will only have to changte it or pay over the odds for a new shape rec ether way. its a common problem piaggio couldent find a definate fix for.. so they changed the lot. always in heavy rain tho
