    Hi everyone,

I have been going over a typhoon 125 that I got off somebody with the thought of smarting it up and selling it on. It's had a few bits done but just when you think your getting there it decides to play funny f****r with me!

I only have to put a set of tyres on it and sort the indicators out before I can book it in for MOT. Before I stripped it to change engine and sort the panels out the indicators worked intermittently. But since it has gone back together there is nothing!
    I have checked :

The switch and changed it to double check - even put it on the light switch connecter and it works them!

Checked all the wiring to the indicators, clean connections and any breaks in wire

The bulbs by feeding each indicator with 12v and they defo work!

The relay has been changed for another identical replacement

Both earths have been checked and cleaned on front and rear of frame

Have checked and changed all fuses, battery and front panel

The only thing I have left is possibly the clocks as the circuit on the back of them looks rusty-ish? Maybe removing them has pickled them?

All other electrics function on scoot apart from indicators which are completely dead - its like there is no live feed to the indicator circuit?

I have checked the connections on stater relay and oil sensor as these seem to be on the wiring circuit for the indicators.

If anyone thinks I can check anything else please give me a shout - coz I'm stuck!

When it's done I will stick it up for sale if anybody is interested but not posting any pics till complete!

Thanks in advance, sorry about the essay!

are the blinkers not part of the CDI on those or is that only on 4t piaggio bikes? tried changing the dash bulbs? could be them thats gone and the load is wrong and the other blinkers wont go?

Not sure about the cdi? I thought it would involve the relay, the switches or where ever else the circuit runs. Just can figure out why there is no current in the circuit! Maybe worth trying the bulbs in the clocks? or new clocks but is un-needed expense if the clocks are not at fault. will give the bulbs a go though they cant be expensive to change as the little holder did also look pretty rusty where they twist in to connect, so will change them as well.
    Thanks

There dc powered, not through cdi. Even with the circuit board faulty on the speedo the indicators should work. The terminals and bulb holders do corrode very easy, re check all connections.

I had this on my typhoon. Turned out to be a bulb which was blown and contacting every once in a while.

Needless to say i was rather annoyed after having the side panels off, all for a bulb....

well I checked the connectors today, cleaned and still nothing! I wanted to double check the connections and to scientifically rule them out!
To be sure I got a battery with a wire connected to the positive and individually touched the wire on each positive connection to the indicator. It worked each time I did this around the scoots four indicators, telling me the indicators earthing OK but lacking power, also showing the bulbs are functioning...

I will buy new bulbs to rule this out an intermittent problem but am wandering what reason there would be no power after knowing there is a working switch, relay, bulbs and connections!

Thanks for the input so far, I wish I was an auto electrician!

Parasitic draw on the battery maybe...

What's that? a rouge drain of the electrics! I will change the bulbs and buy some contact cleaner to make sure its all extra clean at every possible connecting point. Is the fuse for the indiactors the same as the lights does anybody know?
