my typh started fine 1st time and then i let it tick over for about 5mins wast i locked up my house etc....and then when i started to ride it down my drive it was spluttering and was moving slowly. i then pulled out onto the road and it cut out and woudnt start again.:( ive cheaked if fuel and oil are coming though the lines and it is. i cheaked my spark plug today and it was coverd in fuel, so i wiped it down and cleaned it, cheaked for a spark then put it back in. Then it started 1st time and cut out the same as it did the 1st time it happend. so i took the plug back out and it was coverd in fuel again.
    1. Are my jets to big?
    2. spark plug or spark plug wire?
    3. Engine flooding somehow

    Thanks A D D S T 3 R

sounds like your running WAY too rich, what jet size you running?

leave it on tickover or ride it but dont use more then half throttle, if its fine hten you need to adjust your main jet, if it still splutters it could be a mixture of idle mix, main jet and needle setting.

    definately carb related though.

    thanks mate.
and By the way it doesnt start at all so i cant ride it or let it tick over. :(
do you know which way the needles go to lean it off? (like anticlockwise or clockwise)
i think it maybe something to do with my new filter, because my local shop upjetted it wen they filterd my air filter. im not sure wat size jet is in there now but i think a 90 jet sounds about right. :wtf:

well it sounds like the shop didnt know what they were doing so they over compensated for the open filter by wacking a massive jet in there, stops it from running lean and heat seizing (straight away)

rip the carb open and investigate, get a few jets and have a piss about with them, trial and error!

depends what you want to do, if you just want to check the plug etc then panels just get taken off, if you're changing a barrel then take the engine out for christ sake.

try under your seat you should have a plastic bit screwed into the bottom of the bowl. undo the screw and its there depends on what job your doing to the cylider. ;)

check reeds and also check the choke is working as it should.

as foir a cylinder on a typh, even a 125 barrewl can be fitted by only removing one pannel. just whip the pipe off, then the inner pannel behind your feety and you should have plenty of clearance./

haha i know it can be done its just one of my pet hates! fittting a barrel whilst the engine is in the bike!

but yeh check reeds and choke as well, its definately something causing it to run rich.
