Im looking for insurance for my scooter. I found one offer from Aprilia's own insurance which is £299 Annual premium + MAX £600 excess. This is for a 2007 SR50, third party fire & theft. Is this about right?

Also... Wobbly, do you know exactly how the SR50 R (carb) is restricted? As im going to get it derezzed when its due for first service.

By the way, my 2nd post on the forums, great website :D

    why not!!

a scoot is under more strain when its restricted!!

mechanically its a good thing derestricting it...the only concern is the warrenty!!

if its a 2007 sr, it will be injection, meaning there isnt any carb.

There was a SR50 R model and a SR50 R FACTORY model. I purchased the SR50 R, this is the non ECU version, isit still injected?

probs the same as most other mate. will be exhaust. washer in variator and normally upjet slightly when your de-restrict. but you might be best waiting for wobbly just to make sure.

i agree iv also read somewhere that a new bike should not be derizzed straight away! supposed 2 get a good few miles on them first. Dunno if it makes much difference but its supposed to be better for the bike.
