Trying to disassemle showa forks?

    basically i baught some used vivacity forks to convert my speedfight, iv removed the oil seal, dust seal and circlip and sprayed them with loads of WD40 but there not coming apart, iv even tried heating the fork tube but no good. :mad:

    i cant find my haynes manual after tearing the house and garage apart!!

    anyone rebuilt or changed the seals in showa USD's??

    Many not! i managed to heat up and remove the bottom.. :)

    theres usually an allen bolt or similar in the bottom of the leg that holds the toob in

    yh i took the bolts out and they only hold on the bottom parts, they might be pressed together as the picture thats in that link shows a set of forks with the top cut off so maby there not supposed to be taken apart.. its all good now tho iv ordered some fresh seals and polished up the legs just need to paint the tubes and bottom pieces then there mint
