was talking to CE about torque drivers he said someone had 1 on a dyno and it let the engine produce 6bhp more lets not added. so are they actually any good and worth buying or not really considering my set up at the min

musta been a shit setup, the only way i can see that happening is it just reduced transmission losses greatly, but 6bhp is still a fucking lot, thats more then bolting a 172 on.

6bhp? even tho psn dont use em...dyno proves its no good really with the 125's

as for what they ACTUALLY do.. correct the torque delivery in the lower speed ratoo's.. so make FUCK all power.. just make the right power lower down where thereis a loss.. the only reason to use one is with a malossi pipe as they leave a torque flat spot on lower revs.. the stock is absoloutly fine. they help with the torwque loss with polini variators off the line but i wouldent honestly waste a ton on one.

as for 6bhp... somones smokin crack an tryin to stitch somone else up. funniest gain ive ever heard about

LOL Look at the ruckus going on!

I think this has been a bit chinese wispers lol, I said to JJ that a guy in CBS Whitton, told me of a guys bike who had had lots of time on the dyno and pretty much got as much as they could with the set up, then they added a malossi torque drive and it made a phenominal difference to that particular bike. Greatly improved power curve, and added showed around 3hp more.
Dunno where 6hp came from, could have been another conversation!

Now as for the 3hp on the dyno maybe even this is crap, but that's what the guy told me :msn1:

the torque drive cannot add power, it simply alters the way it's put down on the road, so alters the curve, there can'y abe any power added unless the stock one was in some way restricted in its free movement. i'm sure these things do give a much better bhp/torque curve but not a higher one.

it will add power at certian speeds and may have corrected a shit port or bad transmission setup.. it can make 3bhp difference but it wont ADD 3bhp.. ive not really seen anything worth me using one tbh as ive installed loads of em an only get marginal gains at bottom end with a polini driver.. this is on bikes you cant full throttle off the line anyway so who cares :D save the ton an get a real 3-6bhp gain (hint hint)

Was prob bull crap any way as the guy wanted me to get my bike on the dyno lol

Minor, where's the real 3 bhp, you hinting towards you doing some porting? lol

On the subject of porting, i'm running my bike in a "safe" state at the moment as i use it for the 30 mile round trip every day, if i were to port it would it still be as reliable, or more so even?

slight on the barrel is alot better without any real wear.. gets hotter quicker but if your only doin 30 odd miles its cool... a m8 went to isle of white raggin a ported 172.. nothing mental.. just a bit more poke and alot better spread.

case is power with reliabilitty but theres limits and its a general increase.. so the same spread of power.. just more of it.
slight on the exhaust port (bit wider and reshaped) will see a smile ;)

people who want your bike on there dyno are up to sommin.. never get one unless its you goin somwhere an askin for it

Yeah, i make you right, where would you recommend for a spot of dyno time? I tried two wheels ahead but the were re-locating or something, and cbs is so expensive!

Do you do set ups minor? Just needs a tweak lol
