TOPIC HIJACKERS - Praying on misfortune of others

After reading through a few topics it has become quite apparant that a few members on here are particularly quick to try to get parts out of people unfortunate enough to suffer accidents or breakdowns.

Firstly, to the people who see a thread entitled "crashed", it doesn't automatically mean Cheap parts for sale, get that in your heads.

Secondly, This forum is to promote the repairs, restorations and use of scooters, not the breaking thrashing and general abuse of scooters.

Could people please show a bit more consideration for those who have been unfortunate enough to have an accident on their scooter.

I have come off mine in the past and it's not a nice thing to happen, it's made even worse by "oh i'll have your carb" and "oh i'll have your engine".

IF the bike appears for spares in the FOR SALE section, THEN you can pick the parts you want but not until that happens. The next post I see with i'll have this or you wanna sell that WILL be deleted and a warning sent to the culprit.

I'm not trying to be a killjoy but nearly every thread goes the same way now. People DON'T always want to sell their bike because it has become damaged and until they say that they DEFINITELY do want to sell or break their pride and joy, please don't start claiming parts.

My feelings go out to anyone who has had an off or a blow up and i hope any injuries are quick to recover and certain member's who are extremely quick to ask for parts don't put you off getting your scooter or bike back on the road.

 

i dont understand whats wrong with asking tho. tbh say i came of a bike and messed the panels and it going to cost x amount of money to repair, then some one offers me x amount for the carb or shock ect i may be inclined to think "ye i could sell that and down grade the power of my bike so that i have the money to repair/replace the panels/forks whatever thats damaged to be back on the road asap" dont understand why thats a problem

 

If you decided to do that then you would list those parts as for sale.

My problem is that no one seems to support people to put their bike back together. Everyone is acting like beachcombers, raiding what they can from other's misfortune.

If someone decides to sell off spares then they will say so.

If anyone wants to offer to buy parts then use a PM or MSN, don't hijack the thread. Thats all i'm saying.

If that's your view, then that's fine, and I do respect it, but I'd be well pissed off if people pounced on me like a flock of Vultures and picked apart the bike i'd spent ages building.

Best answer is to stop crashing.

Haha, in my help topic minor said to sell him my bike before even offering any help or advice!

 

I'm not saying mods or admins are totally innocent, i'm sure if you dig deep enough you will find that I have done similar. its just getting out of hand and it's not very sensitive towards the people who have just damaged their pride and joy.

I didn't make this to cause arguments of finger pointing, i made this to stop it in the FUTURE.
