Top speeds

Hi, ive got a suzuki ay50,m and was wondering how fast they can go???. as mine does 45 with a polini variator kit and a doppler s3r exhaust, thanks

 

did you up-jet your carb and fit stiffer clutch springs when you fitted the doppler pipe??

 

well tbh around 45-50 true speed is the most you can really get out of a 50 with that setup, if you want regular speeds of around 60 then maybe you should invest in a bore kit??

ive upjetted it by 10 sizes and still no difference, my mate has the same setup and his goes 65 and has been clocked by a car

do any of you know how to de-restrict the suzuki katana ay50 LC 2006 model?

 

my zip now does 62mph and its still has standard 50 kit and exhaust

and now you know the truth lol speedo's lie.
on the clocks the can remove anything from 4mph to 10mph, after 30mph the clocks lie, different clocks lie by different amount as there not calibrated to anything over 30mph and your tyre pressure player a part too

 

thats what i thought but with a few simple mods its made a complete difference to my zip sp, its now quicker than mates px 125 and everyone knows these do a true 60 mph

 

plus my old vw camper used to do 100mph in 3rd gear this was clock speed and maybe a few miles per hour out but it was enough to upset a m5 bmw

 

what dose that have to do with a 50cc?

 

gearing on piaggio's runs out at 59mph and i dont think your maxing it out with a 50cc lump

 

maybe its only doing 50 plus mph but it showed 62mph on speedo will get it checked with gps

 

my old nrg would show 74mph on stock gearing. but i know the gearing runs out at 59 so lol
