Hey guys, just thought I'd post up a quick thread on tools really.

I'm just getting started & unfortunately funds won't allow for the £8,000 Snap On tool chest so looking on Halford's website I found this:

    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_177693_langId_-1_categoryId_165572

Looks pretty complete for what I'd be using it for with peds etc, maybe just another few spanners & I've already got a nice set of screwdrivers. What do you guys think?

Lifetime warranty & £100 off.. Sounds pretty win win to me!

the halfords professional sets are excellent i got the
Halfords Professional 33 piece Metric Ratchet Spanner Set and
Halfords Professional 100 Piece Socket Tray
was a bitch trying to make the tray fit into my cheapo halfords tool box lol (dont get the £100 box and cabinet even when its half price)

Well to start it may just be small repairs & fixes - hopefully building up but I was hoping something like this would do the job to start.

And yeah I've heard nothing but good things about them & for the price & lifetime guarantee I thought it would be worth a go! The next step would be some sort of tool box so I'll bare that in mind haha.

    Cheers, Matt.

good lifetime investment, theives target Snap On collections. That's why my lounge is dexion racked out, with my tool collection on it, sod leaving it in the shed.

That's all I'm going to be doing nathan, it's just I felt a good starting point.

GUNS I really don't blame you mate! Anything of value - especially tools such as those are easily targeted by the local thieving toe rags but yeah I thought it'd be a good investment.

Within five minutes of reserving it online I had a phone call from someone at Halford's confirming that they had it in stock ready to be collected tomorrow. Actually really looking forward to picking it up so I can start taking stuff apart haha, feel like a really big kid! :D

A 24V impact gun would be a good buy, Id be lost without mine. Heat gun wouldnt go a miss if your planning to strip engines, perfect for removing and replacing bearings.

Haha yeah it's lovely but painful at the same time having all these pipe dreams!

Was looking at getting a electric impact wrench as my mate swears by his & the heat gun will be coming in the future but I don't feel it'll be needed straight away.

Well got there today & if I'm honest seen it in the window & wasn't 100% sure but went ahead with it. Got it home & had a quick mess about with the ratchet and will be using it all weekend.

At first thought it seems very good for money - every thing's very shiny and when picked up doesn't disappoint feels great. Just got to keep the receipt handy!

Overall very good investment I think :) Would definitely recommend!

would have gone for the 150 personally the little drill bits are a god send as i havent rounded a screw head since.

as said would deffo go get a set of the flex head ratchet spanners there a god send too.

Right now, the only problem youll have is with the 1/2 ratchet, dont use it as a breaker bar, itll lock up on you as the pressure your using on it. if you do forget, slap it to use the otherway and hit it with a mallet should get it unlocked.

i have two of the 150 sets myself and there mint for everything i do on scoots.

I looked at the 150 online however I forgot when I got there but I'm not disappointed especially as it was a bit of a budget choice too. May look at the flex head's they do look good & can see how they'd be handy.

I'll definitely try and remember that as I won't be happy if it goes balls up lol. Just bought a variator locking tool so we'll see how Adrelin Pedstop performs :good:

    you don't need the receipt
you just take the broken tool into halfords and they replace it
although the mechanisms in the ratchets and ratchet spanners aren't covered by the life time warranty most stores will replace them anyway, unless your unlucky and get a complete wanker

Oh right I got told you needed a receipt of some sort - in that case it's fine!

With that sort of a guarantee I can't help but feel it's a good investment. :)

halfords pro stuff is top quality and no probs when you need something swapped if broken as already stated, ive been using halfords stuff for over 10 years, most of it replacing broken snap on stuff that the snap on rep has been arsey with
i use my stuff every day and work in a busy main dealers so it gets USED, you wont go wrong with the halfords stuff :good:

It got some proper use today and must honestly say - it's not disappointed.

Would definitely advise anyone who's in the market for some tools to go out & buy this I can't recommend it enough!
