They're actually a really good bike. My first ped was a Tomos A3, I was 11 so it's always just been a field bike, never broken once and I've ragged the nuts out of it in all weathers, fallen off it and even made a ramp for it, still structurally sound and 7 years later still starts 2nd kick But as a road bike is a different story, they're impractical for this country because of how light they are and how they look somewhat like the new electric bikes, so stealing one would be alot less conspicuous than say a scooter, and to be honest, they're not very fast at-all. Vietnam, India etc; then sure, reliability is almost all is needed. But England; nonono
Ive got a tomos, im a motorcycle mechanic and ride a whole lot of bikes, but the tomos is brilliant, its very simple and slow, but its made for that, you cant derestrict it as such as its made to go only 45kmh. I paid very little for mine and used it in minus degrees, in 50cm snow, on ice, it goes up any hill I throw at it. Wouldnt buy one new tho, they blow over off the stand in strong wind (it only weighs 30 odd kg)
Don't know what you're missing.!., 'cycled' 600 yds. to work on mine maxi.when the exhaust......dislodged itself a bit. .
Downhill. ., eyes glued to speedo- pedaling like f..k.trying to reach the heady heights of a new land speed record,ha ha .
Got me thinking now,how practical it'd be.to have transport I could carry up 4 flights of stairs after work. If that form of anti-theft security don't get me a drop in ins.%£,don't know what will. .
I cant really cycle anymore anyway, my body is just falling apart, gonna swap to a quad next winter I think
