Can a loose throttle cable cause a scooter not to run as fast as it used to?

if its so loose that its not fully opening the slider then it could do. best get it changed and set up correctly asap, there is a thread i read on here somewhere stating that they are one of the most abused parts of a scooter and are very rarely serviced or replaced. might aswell do it while you have a reason to before it goes on you ;)

I checked it at the weekend it was a little loose I tightened it a little and got a few extra mph.

    Cheers for the reply.
