This happened to me aswell LOL
broke half the lil white fan :(

Its because of the variator nut, some say tighten it to 40nM etc some say tighten it all the way

Best thing to do get a brand new nut and use loctite ;)

only ever does this if you tighten it down to the belt, not the crank. make sure the belt is slack.

make sure the splines are still intact on both the crank and the pulley.

yep as wobbly says make sure your not tightening the pulleys against the belt..

make sure the belt is at the top of the front pulley before tightening nut on the variator....you will have to push the belt down the rear pulley a bit to acheive this :D

youd be amazed how many people dont know this!!

when you say rubs you mean grinds along the kickstart mechanism cover?

if so then your belt still aint sitting high enough when tightening. belt needs to have enough slack variator side to be 3/4 of the way up atleast.

that way it'll all tighten up as it should.

they grind sometimes, if you have a shim between the varo shaft and the outer pulley then try it without, make sure the varo nut tightens against the outer pulley, not the end of the threads, need a fairly thick washer i beleive.

He he. I had that problem! It costed me a belt! I forgot to put the thick washer on and it allowed the finned pulley to vibe!!

doubt 10g is correct tbh.. would be that on a silly ported barrel but a 180 with 172 and a pm59 will usually ro\un between 12.5/14g.. probably hitting the rev limiter with the 10's in m8

rev limiter on runners/typhs is pritty sneeky. just doesent rev higher, dont hear it or feel it unless you know what to feel for. sure the 12.5's will run better anyway (unless you have a seriously ported barrel)

this is probably not the way to do it but what i do is put a screw driver through the fins on the fan and tighten against that watch your knuckles though :D
