just wondering is it legal, or safe, to carry a little bottle of petrol in my scooter top box for emergency's? i expect it is not safe but just wondering....
in an accident it shouldnt cause a problem, plastic container and plastic top box. shouldnt be too much of a problem, but is it nessecary?
with how small the visions tank is id say yeah, something I might do, say a small 1l drinks bottle and tape around the lid to make 100% it doesn't leak
Should be perfectly fine If you can try to attach it somewhere so its not rolling about etc and always touch somewhere metal on the car before opening the container as static can ignite the vapours fuel gives off. The vapour it gives off is actually ALOT more flammable than the petrol itself so its a good idea to always keep it filled to the top so the empty space doesn't fill with vapour.. I have a couple of these for emergencies/long trips.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yellowsto...pment_RL&var=420144334292&hash=item1c334a2b8e
put some tap on the lid and wrap it in a towel or something will stop it rolling about! will keep it snug and as you ALL SHOULD KNOW happy snug petrol makes your scooter go 10mph faster
I tend to dip my fingers in the tank after filling up and bless the front of my ped with it at the petrol station. Haters gon' hate.
Thats probably the best thing I've heard haha! I'll not say what I dip in the tank you might judge me..
its just because shes abit temperamental and has touble starting unless shes on like half a talk and i cant always garuntee il be near a station..... i may also have to start dipping my finger in after each time and mark her simba style...
christ whats this post turned into since ive been gone although personally i prefer the exhaust (although not whilst hot that would be daft)
bloody hell someone had to lol, I quote from that - These regulations do not affect purely private carriage. but on a serious note aslong as its in a plastic bottle that wont split or even a jerry can on the back or something, you wont get any hassle and if its secure I cant see there being any issues in a accident, aslong as the bottle isn't able to split or leak, and if you do have a accident, if you are able to make sure its the first thing you remove, I mean how much more dangerous can it be than having petrol in the tank, if your scoots on fire its going up anyway, another litre of petrol aint gonna hurt.
