hi there, does the Peugeot blaster have a thermostat as I can't seem to find one, it's definitely not on the head or barrel cos I have fitted a new one,

    ludix blaster.

possible it has a stealth thermostat fitted that engages at 70c its a brass like unit thats activated when it gets to a certain temp .
google search throws them up , but they are not electronic read types ie no temp gauge. more like a safety pressure release unit

Could well be, only just got it on the road and after rebuilding it I haven't come across anything where a thermostat would go, temperature gauge don't move when your driving but shoots up when left in tick over

its liquid cooled and has a guage so it must have a thermostat of some type fitted. the linked item is for pugs , namely speedy 1/2 and the ludix blaster 50/125

its not the usual thermostat one is used to seeing ie a bolt in unit with electrical connection to the gauge

I can see the thermostat in the diagram but it's not listed in the price list, where would it fit in to cos it definitely not on the head or barrel, the only thing on the head is the temperature sendor unit and a water pipe

remove the head, flip it upside down and you should see it parked where the water inlet is. that is where it lives inside the head unit where the water come into/out of the head. theres a little seating area for it to sit in .

first you must empty the radiator and drain the water from system. then you will remove spark plug, remove the inlet/outlet water pipes and then undo the head and slip it off, being very careful not to let any residual water drop into the sparkplug hole / cylinder on the motor. once removed you can then get to the thermostat and replace it if need be

yes its a pain buddy BUT.

without a registering temp gauge if the motor overheats your not going to get a warning until its way to late, ie the radiator cap vents out/ or even blows out, the barrel cracks and you get water into the main cylinder or you get a heat seize , then its the cost of a new top end and cylinder.

yes its silly the way pugs has done this not using a half decent thermo pickup direct to the gauge kinda just makes it more of a work job and replacing of seals every time you need to check that temp unit valve. ride slow and dont hammer it to much until you get that thermo sorted buddy , you should be ok just keep an eye on temps and check the rads are topped up .

should be no damage done so your safe there, as long as your easy on the throttle and just check that rad n head now and again see if its overheating you should be fine till it turns up, and your very welcome on the advice and tips

hope your back on the road soon buddy and ride safe
