The chrome trunk rack on my goldwing was peeling badly so decided to have it re-chromed. Took it down, can't be done apparently, so I decided to chrome paint it instead.
What a waste of time that turned out to be. Got 3 parts of the way through it and suddenly realised it's aluminium and I just need to polish it instead.

    Could it be a service?
    Some cleaning perhaps?
    Checking the chain?

Maybe im just shoving the biggest engine I could find into my "50cc" cub.
    Going from 3 speed "50" (+60cc)
    To 5 speed "50" (+140cc)

Given the extra length on the new engine, will it fit without fouling the front mudguard?

Surprisingly it does. I was worried about the same thing.
Oddly the yx140 does just touch the fender, hence the fork change on the black one.

Would it be possible to just change the front mudguard for one that doesn't have the little turn up at the back instead? And then fit a straight fender extender to mitigate the tyre spray?

Yeah. Im a clever bastard at making things fit. But it more fun to swap out the forks like I did.

Local building supplies driver with his hiab and a couple of straps?
Or strip it first, engine out, forks and wheels out, carry it.
