Work commuting, not needed for a cpla months...... Why have i just developed a sudden fit of giggles..
Nice day, even though it rained earlier. - grab a cpla precious hours working on the bike(s) in the backyard/decent productive day with happy thoughts afters...... & there was this ONE damned bolt........!!!!. God i love power tools.
Note to self:- Do not think your clever trimming down a thick footrest rubber with a angle grinder/metal cutting blade in order to get at a metal retaining plate - just cause you've got loooads of spare ones.! You will shorten the life expectancy of your lungs by 20 years.
Pooh........... But could maybe get a place with a big shed, or move outside the smoke and have a garage
1300 miles in & Vision's faultless.., will start to develop rust on the exhaust & disc fairly quickly mind., thought i'd broken the seat catch as i had to check it this morning.! -had a bit of a rocking horse feeling when braking hard from 60 - turns out i'd only locked it shut before putting down the seat..
finished all the electrical repairs and checks, was nice to have a bit of sunshine for a 5 mile test run. really pleased with the new rear bearings. might go for a short trek tomorrow.
Bit of work on one of my Lead's...before it started drizzling.! Better back wheel with decent tyre on board & no broken exhaust studs.!!!! - SCOOOOOOORE..
Rode to work at 3a.m. this morning - wearing a full-face helmet for the 1st time in over 3 years..... Bugger it was weird!.,could'nt see or hear as well & my breathing technique in order to stop the visor misting up...woulda done a yoga master proud..
got hit in the face by a bluebottle at 20mph seen it coming but too late to swerve, snood blocked its way. Got news for the bluebottle though, I survived.
Doing a recce on all my bikes & spares.....had more than i thought.!.!,gonna shift it all before i move - keeping the 2 Vision's & my C90 spares/mind..
Fixed my mates zx12r, loads of work on that, then his son bought his 600 bandit round because he is also going to the TT on wednesday. Was only supposed to be a clutch and full service, turned out it needed clutch, fork seals and dust covers, new front pads, rear disc and pads, front tyre, the full service and brake fluid changes, and best of all, all the bolts tightening up so nothing moves (like the tank)!!!! I will get my own finished one day..................
Blast down to Shepperton at 3 a.m. this morning - swallowed about 12,0000 midges & hit a puddle near Harlequins at 50 that slowed the Vision down to 'bout 1/2 a mile an hour in a nanosecond.....the spray out the sides of the bike were BIBLICAL.!!!.
Rode to work this morning, couldn't avoid a section of flooded road so I had to ride through it. Got absolutely soaked and thought I had killed my Kymco, Nope the thing is an absolute tank and after a splutter quickly accelerated off as if it was nothing! On the ride home almost run a smackhead over and performed a perfect emergency stop from 40mph without locking the wheels up when some dozy sod pulled out on me.
