Went to do the anti-freeze on the jag this morning after the trip to the tip................no water in the header tank!
    OOOOOOHHHHHHH CRAP!
    Checked the oil first, nothing...........phew:)
Topped up the tank, ran the engine, water seeping out of a small crack in the side of the tank.
    NUTS!
Rang my jag bloke, no stock of new tanks.
Rang around the main dealers, no stock.
Apparently jag is testing a new batch of tanks before releasing them, that means a wait of weeks, maybe months.
Then a very helpful tech put me on to a breaker, rang him, had one, raced over on the bike, £35 later I have a good used one.
Fitted that, done the anti-freeze, replaced the front discs and pads, all hunky dory again.
Need to re-fit the scuttle panel and wipers in the morning after checking the fluid levels haven't gone down too much and there aren't any other leaks showing.
That 750 ain't never getting stripped at this rate.................
